Does Acai Berry Really Work?
The story I am about to tell you happened a few days ago. I was talking to my mom about acai berry, explaining to her what is acai berry and what makes it so interesting. During my explanation she asked me a seemingly simple question: “Does it work?” Of course given my rather vast knowledge of acai berry health benefits I was about to tell her all the different ways in which acai works. But then it hit me, so instead I asked her: “But what does ‘work’ really mean?
As expected her answer was that ‘work’ would mean that after taking acai berry a person would lose weight. But how much weight would one need to lose before concluding that it does indeed work? 5 pounds? 10? 15? And how fast does the weight loss need to happen? One week? two? Maybe a whole month? But what if while taking acai I also drink three 2 litter bottles of soda and eat a donut or two every day in addition to what I normally eat. Then at the end of the month I obviously not only have not lost any weight but probably gained a good 10 pounds. What’s then? Does it mean that acai berry doesn’t work?
As you can see from this short story the question of “Does it work?” is much harder to answer than it may appear. It also illustrates that expectations play a huge role when people talk about whether or not a certain product is good or not. And it’s not specific to weight loss, it happens with all products, but weight loss is personal so people are more passionate about it than say a cell phone.
So to avoid frustration about acai berry not working, ask yourself what are your expectations for it, and are those expectations realistic. We all wish there was a way to lose all that extra fat without doing anything, but that’s unrealistic and hoping for such a result will just set you up for a disappointment. However if you are realistic about your expectations then you will likely find acai berry to be a great product.
