Can Acai Berry Slow Down Aging?

Since the dawn of age people wanted to find the elixir of immortality, or at least something that would extend one’s life time. Given how many health benefits are provided by acai berry, wouldn’t it be awesome if it also slowed down aging and became the ultimate food. Well, acai berries are already an excellent addition to any diet, as to its power to slow down aging, that’s a lot more debatable.

Humans are very complex, and so is the aging process, also given the fact you can’t exactly test it on the same person, small sample size and genetics can greatly influence the results, I would imagine at least. For every old person who attributes their old age to not drinking any alcohol, there is one who drinks a glass of wine every day, for every vegetarian there is someone who eats meat all the time.

But anecdotal evidence aside. The research has linked antioxidants (which acai berry is full of) to slowing down of the aging process. However, all the research done on this topic are inconclusive for one reason or another, and there is no research that shows that acai berry itself can slow down aging. So beware of companies claiming that acai berry slows down aging, as there is no proof of it.

With that said, acai berry is an excellent addition to any diet, and antioxidants have many health benefits, so it it’s still a good idea to use it. Just don’t expect to live for a hundred years just because you are taking acai.
