Acai Berry Reviews

There are many Acai Berry Reviews out there, but they don’t seem to be terribly truthful. So I thought I’d write one myself, and like all reviews it will consist of three sections: good, bad and ugly. Enjoy!

The Good:

Acai berry is a very nutritious berry found in Amazon rainforest. It is also a very strong antioxidant. In the last few years acai became the hottest diet supplement in America. There are now many companies producing all kinds of products based on acai, from juices to capsules. Each company has a slightly different take on how to best use acai berries power, mixing it with different added ingredients, which allows you to find just the right product.

Although, acai berry doesn’t work quite as well as the ads claim (I mean come on, you can’t lose 30 pounds in a months just by taking a pill unless your diet and exercise are in place) It works better than other diet pills, and can produce some very nice results if combined with a good diet and exercise regimen. All in all an acai berry is a good addition to one’s diet, and it can greatly help with one’s weight loss.

Also, for acai berry capsules there are free trials available. The free trials are an amusing subject as it actually makes an appearance in all 3 of the sections of this review. But for the good part of free trials - it allows you to try it and see if it works for you, and given the many mixes of added ingredients, it’s a good try as t allows you to find the right one for you.

The Bad:

Some of the companies use deceptive advertisement, for example they will use a photo of Oprah. While Oprah did in fact feature acai berry on her show, she does not endorse any particular product. The same goes for dr. Perricone who named acai berry the number one superfood in the world. As well as Rachel Ray, who too had featured acai berry on her show. While the ads never actually say that the products is endorsed by Oprah or Rachel Ray, by displaying their photos with text like “as seen on Oprah” some consumers may think that those celebrities are endorsing the product.

The free trials, I told you it shows up in each section. The bad thing about free trials is that a lot of people can’t read, it’s a sad fact but the education system isn’t what it used to be combined with the fact that Internet promotes the NOW!! mentality, a large number of people manage not to read the terms they agree to when ordering a free trial. As such they are completely shocked when the company offering that trial does exactly what they said they will do - charge their credit card after they do not cancel the trial period.

Obviously after being billed for something they don’t want, those people feel upset and try to find someone to point fingers at. Obviously it is by no means they fault for failing to read the terms they are agreeing to. So the next obvious thing to point at is the company, it also recommended to call that company a scam. Granted I am a bit perplexed as to how it’s a scam, since a consumer was told exactly what will happen and what to do to prevent it. Never the less, a large number of angry, illiterate people are claiming they have been scammed, and this isn’t a good thing.

The Ugly:

Amongst many of the people who can’t read, there are a few who can but still got scammed. A few companies promoting acai berry capsules free trials will not let you cancel. They won’t respond to emails or phone calls, leaving a consumer no choice but to dispute the charges with credit card companies. Obviously this is an outright fraud and I believe there is an investigation going on right now that is looking into the practices used by those companies.

Conclusion:

Acai Berry is a good weight loss supplement, although it won’t make you lose a lot of weight by itself, when combined with a diet and exercise it can produce some very good results. An important life lesson - read the fine print so you know what you are agreeing to, the fine print on a web site is the “terms of use” section usually found at the bottom of a page. If you read the ToS you’ll know exactly what you will be billed and when, as well as how to avoid it.

Lastly, while reading ToS will greatly help you avoid scams, there is still a small chance you’ll run into one of the scamming companies that doesn’t let you cancel. To make avoid such an unfortunate situation we recommend you read our How to Avoid Acai Scams guide and follow the steps outlined in it.
